James D. Statton (Jom) is the creator, owner, and head designer of Statton Design Group, Inc. (SDG), a small, boutique firm that specializes in commercial interior design. Statton Design excels at CAD As-builts, preliminary space planning, square footage calculations, construction documents, construction observation, and furniture specification/purchase.
Jom graduated from Oklahoma State Tech in 1982 with a double major in CAD drafting and graphics design. After graduation, Jom moved to Dallas where he spent time at Texas Instruments, Bell Helicopter, F. Brown & Associates, and Staffelbach Design Associates. In 1993, Jom created Statton Design.
Along with his 35 years of experience, he is a licensed designer in the state of Texas and is eligible for licensing throughout the United States and Canada. He recently completed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification exam, distinguishing himself as an expert in the design field.
Statton Design excels at creating environments that play an active role in the growth of a business by providing the quality service expected of a large firm and the personal attention unique to a small firm. Jom designs and oversees every step of the design process from field verifying and space planning, to finish selection and furniture specification. Jom has experience working with any size of interior project, including corporate headquarters, commercial buildings, call centers, medical offices, and retail spaces.
Statton design also partners with many architects, engineers and construction companies in the Dallas/Fort Worth area if any external design or extensive construction is needed.
Over the past 24 years, Statton Design Group, Inc. has worked on over 15 million square feet of lease space with customers such as Verizon Wireless, Providian Financial, Sammons Enterprises, Philip Morris, E2M Partners, JC Penney, Nations’ Best Sports, Avail Medical Products, Nypro Healthcare, University of Dallas, StoneEagle VPay Services, Lambert Landscape, GE Healthcare, Reef Oil and Gas, Harmony School of Science, The Town of Westlake, Westlake Academy, Lone Star Park and Serendipity Spa.
In his free time, Jom uses his design work to further the community. He volunteered with the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce on the Young Entrepreneurs Business Project, helping students create and launch viable business projects. He is currently helping the City of Eureka Springs convert an old high school into a vibrant community center which will give the students and citizens of Eureka Springs a place to come together as a community.
